Open Tournaments

The National Pairs is run over heats in the districts with a grand final.

The Lord Thomson Trophy is our National Simultaneous Pairs event.   Heats are held in clubs Monday - Friday with the trophy awarded to the pair with the highest overall percentage.

The T.N.Culbertson Trophy is our Scottish Swiss Pairs tournament, playing approximately 48 boards.

The Winter Foursomes for the Scottish BBL Cup is an open elimination teams of four. Teams eliminated from the consolation event will be invited to play in the Winter Swiss Teams. 

The Rayne Trophy is our National Multiple Teams of Four tournament.  Heats held in districts with the top teams from each district heat playing in a Multiple Teams Final.

The Edwin Berry Bowl is our National Swiss Teams tournament, playing 6 rounds of 8 boards.

The Winter Swiss Teams for the Peploe Trophy is a Swiss Teams tournament playing 6 rounds of 8 boards - teams failing to progress to the later stages of the Winter 4s are invited to join this tournament.

The Spence Cup is a match pointed pairs tournament for the top pairs in the Districts' Pairs Championships.

The Stirling Pairs is a match pointed pairs event

Men's Tournaments

The Buchanan Cup is our Men's National Pairs event - a Swiss pairs event playing approximately 48 boards. This one day event is part of the (Wo)men's weekend, with Pairs on the Saturday and Teams on the Sunday.

The Benny Dexter Trophy is our Men's National Teams tournament

Women's Tournaments

The Cyril Breene Trophy is awarded for the Women's National Pairs is a Swiss pairs event playing approximately 48 boards. This one day event is part of the (Wo)men's weekend, with Pairs on the Saturday and Teams on the Sunday.

The Women's National Teams tournament for the Glasgow Bulletin Trophy.  The runners up receive the Beatrice Craig Cup.

Mixed Tournaments

The Ruby Martyn Trophy is our Mixed Pairs competition, Swiss pairs for mixed sex partnerships playing approximately 48 boards.

The Helen Walton Trophy is our Mixed Teams competition

The Easter Pairs is a Simultaneous Match pointed pairs.  Heats will be held in clubs Monday - Friday (Same boards Thursday/Friday), incorporating the Bobby Allan Trophy awarded to the best Mixed Pair, Monday-Friday.

Juniors ... and Seniors' Tournaments

Junior National Pairs for the Robert Frischmann Trophy (see the Juniors website for full details).

Senior National Pairs for the Diamond Trophy is a Simultaneous match pointed pairs (about 45 boards). Heats held in Districts.

Tournaments Restricted by Player Ranking

The Arthur Trophy is a Butler Pairs tournament for Grand Masters.

The Bowman Trophy is a match pointed pairs tournament for Life and Senior Life Masters

The Fairlie Trophy is a match pointed pairs tournament for Regional, Scottish and National Masters

The Jesner Trophy is a match pointed pairs tournament for Masters, Star Masters and Senior Masters

The Johnston Trophy is a match pointed pairs tournament for Local and District Masters

The Kennedy Trophy is a match pointed pairs tournament for Novices & Club Masters.  District Heats and Final.

The Thea Teale Trophy is our Bronze National Pairs competition for all All Bronze Levels.  Match Pointed Bronze Pairs with a heat in each District, one winner event. Simultaneous scoring online by via e-cats.

The Thea Teale Salver is our National Bronze Teams competition — Swiss Teams playing 5 rounds of 7 boards.

The Alan Fairlie Trophy is a Bronze event for Novices, Club Masters, Local Masters and District Masters. Players are required to play a designated simple system.

The Shenkin Trophy is a Bronze event for Masters, Star Masters and Senior Masters. Players are required to play a designated simple system.

The Benjamin Trophy is an individual competition for Grand Masters, by invitation

The Harrison Trophy is an individual competition for Regional Masters and above.  Players are required to play a designated simple system.

The Scottish Cup for the Daily Record Trophy

The Scottish Cup Plate for the W M Clow Trophy

The Gold Cup (Scotland) is a Teams of Four knockout competition organised by Bridge Great Britain.  The Gold Cup Plate for the Marion Hill Trophy is a consolation event for teams eliminated from the Gold Cup in the first round in which they play, providing this is no later than the second round.
