The first-ever Festival of Bridge – It’s a Big Deal!, taking place 9-15 September this year across Scotland and England, promises to be an exciting celebration of the game for all bridge enthusiasts. The Festival aims to foster awareness and interest in bridge as a mindsport for all ages and abilities, as well as raising funds for Cancer Research UK.  Our goal is to raise £10,000 in Scotland during the Festival of Bridge.

If you've landed on the SBU Festival of Bridge website but live in England and want to get involved, just follow this link to the EBU's Festival news.https://www.ebu.co.uk/festival

The Festival will be held as a series of events nationwide - in clubs, halls and homes across the country.  Here's a flavour of what’s on the cards – pop-up bridge, pot-luck partner evenings, bridge marathons, twinned-town matches, taster bridge & brownie sessions, bring a buddy to bridge, bridge in a day, black tie bridge, charity lunches, bonkers bridge and much more.

Whether you are a social player, club member, elite internationalist or just starting to play bridge we hope that people will come together to celebrate, to spread the word that bridge is a wonderful game and that by working together we can have fun as well as playing our part in helping to beat cancer. However large or small, please get involved in the Festival of Bridge this September and raise money for Cancer Research in Scotland - fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/festival-of-bridge-scotland

We've listed some cool ideas for events but don't hesitate to get creative and try something new!  We can provide marketing materials, event-running guides, and even fundraising support for events large or small.

To keep up to date and share your participation in the Festival, join us on our social platforms using the buttons on the website.

Please tell us about your event – and if you like, we’ll add it to our Map of Events.  Just email Robyn Glynne-Percy at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  We're looking forward to hearing from you!
