SBU Online Saturday Swiss pairs

5 rounds of 5 boards scored in match-points;
Black masterpoints will be awarded to the top quarter for each separate tournament along with points for winning matches;
Entry fee BBO$4.50 per player for each tournament
Your BBO name must be registered with SBU Mempad in order to play.

The Tournament operates in Series

Series last for 9 weeks.
The next series starts on Saturday 23 December 2023 and finishes on 17th February.
there is no requirement to play every week;
The average of the 6 best partnership scores will determine the series winners after week 9;
Bonus of 150 black masterpoints for the Series winners and bonus masterpoints to the top third in the final ranking after week 9;

Click Competitive, All Tournaments and search for host SBU (Host will be of form SBU_x_xxx where x_xxx will vary) with "Saturday Swiss" in title.

How to pay for BBO events

If the entry price is quoted in BBO$ then payment is on the day when you register on BBO for the event.
You do this in the period 2 hours before the BBO session is due to start.

How to pay for other events

If the price is quoted in GBP, then usually you should have 2 options (choose either one):

(1) we offer credit card payment - if the competition has this there will be a payment link in its description

(2) or you can pay the SBU directly—please send entry fees via BACS to:

How to Contact Us

There should be a link to the event convener listed. If there is no link you can email SBU Tournament Convener. If you have any problems using the booking system you can contact the Website Administrator.

Need to cancel?

If you no longer wish to play in an event, you can use the Cancellation Link which is included in your emailed entry receipt, so hang on to that. If you need to change your lineup, please contact the convener directly. You could also cancel and re-enter.

General Notes

All national SBU Events are Red Pointed. Unless otherwise noted, all players must be members of the SBU.

Please take care when entering your email address - we use the this to contact you about the event. You may if you wish add your contact telephone number - if you are adding your name to an event waiting list, please do this so we can get in touch as soon as a space becomes available. All personal data is removed periodically.

Players should endeavour to arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes before the start of the event – anyone unable to attend should make every effort to inform the Convener.
