Barnet Shenkin, one of Scotland's top players, has published a new book. It follows 'Playing with the Bridge Legends' which was published twenty years ago. The first section of the book shows the amazing influence Omar Sharif had on the game from when he started in the 1970's. It goes on to feature the World's best players including Belladonna , Garozzo, and some of their remarkable hands. Tales are told - tiny Iceland winning the World Championship against the bridge super powers in 1991 and Pakistan reaching the final in 1982.
The second section details the greatest Scandals in the game - Reese Schapiro 1965 in Buenos Aires and how my late father Louis was in charge of organising the resultant enquiry with Sir John Foster QC. The third section is devoted to Scotland and its most famous players. From Scotland's first professional, Albert Benjamin to 5-time World Champion Michael Rosenberg with stories about Willie Coyle and Victor Silverstone and other Icons of Scottish bridge .
