Model Template for Application to join the Scottish Bridge Union through a Bridge Club

This file is a template for an affiliated club new member application.

Starting with the 23/24 season, we have returned to the process whereby new applicants to a club, who are not yet members of the SBU, can, at the same time apply for membership of the SBU.

Armed with all necessary detail and consents, the club administrator will then submit the detail of the SBU application directly onto the  MEMPAD embedded application through their given access.

We hope that all will find this a more simple and straightforward process.

In order to enable and lessen the task of both applicant and club administrator, and help clarify the responsibilities of each, we offer this model template. There is no obligation for clubs to use it, but club administrators do need to obtain much of the detail and the various consents in order to submit the new SBU membership applications on the player's behalf.

We have included a question regarding date of birth. This is only required if the applicant wishes to take advantage of youth membership or intends to play in age restricted events.

This form also serves the purpose of having all Club and SBU Policies including the Data Privacy Policy to be brought to the attention of all aspiring members.
