The first-ever Festival of Bridge – It’s a Big Deal!, taking place 9-15 September this year across Scotland and England, promises to be an exciting celebration of the game for all bridge enthusiasts. The Festival aims to foster awareness and interest in bridge as a mindsport for all ages and abilities, as well as raising funds for Cancer Research UK.  Our goal is to raise £10,000 in Scotland during the Festival of Bridge.

The Scottish Bridge Union is supporting clubs and players all over Scotland to hold their own pop-up games and open days during the week of 9-15 September so look out in your local clubs and leisure centres for details of what’s on or go to our own Festival of Bridge pages here for more information, https://www.sbu.org.uk/festival-of-bridge

 

 
 
The SBU is holding a national event - Swiss Pairs on the 15th September on RealBridge to mark this week and all proceeds will be going to Cancer Research UK.

Please support this campaign in whatever way you can.
 

This will be a standard National Online Swiss pairs.  8 x 6 boards, 7 minutes per board. 

This will be played on RealBridge.

Event Booking Notes

Online entries

Please select the event name for full details of any event.

The list of entries is updated immediately; you will receive an emailed receipt with a cancellation code if you need to withdraw.  You will receive a further email a few days before the event.

How to pay for BBO events

If the entry price is quoted in BBO$ then payment is on the day when you enter the event.  You need to register for the event on BBO  - allow at least 15 minutes prior to the start in case of problems.  Ensure you have enough money in your BBO account to pay the entry fee.

How to pay for other events

Payments must be made by Credit or Debit Card.  There will be a payment link for the event on the event description.  Use this to make your payment.  If you need to pay a different amount,  for instance if you have a Junior in your team, contact treasurer@sbu.org.uk for a specific payment link. 

The event is not shown?

Events disappear from the Calendar when they have been run.  If you need to pay for a completed tournament, there is a list of completed tournaments here with the payment links.

How to Contact Us

There should be a link to the event convener listed.  If there is no link you can email SBU Tournament Convener.  If you have any problems using the booking system you can contact the Website Administrator.

Need to cancel?

If you no longer wish to play in an event, you can use the Cancellation Link which is included in your emailed entry receipt, so hang on to that.  If you need to change your lineup, please contact the convener directly.  You could also cancel and re-enter.

RealBridge

An email with the joining link will be sent to the person registering the day before the event.  The event will also be added to the Event Description on the website.

General Notes

All national SBU Events are Red Pointed.  Unless otherwise noted, all players must be members of the SBU.

Please take care when entering your email address - we use the this to contact you about the event.  You may if you wish add your contact telephone number. 

Players should endeavour to arrive at the venue or join online at least 15 minutes before the start of the event – anyone unable to attend should make every effort to inform the Convener.
