The Secretary of the SBU has issued a notice of an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of SBU members, to be held on Zoom on the 30th August at 6.30 pm. This EGM is a necessary first step towards the creation of a new legal entity whose name will be "Scottish Bridge Union" [NB. as before but no leading 'the'] which will combine the benefits of incorporation and limited liability with the advantages of charitable status.
All current members of the SBU have been invited to attend and given explanatory documentation. Please inform the SBU Secretary at if you wish to attend, and Carolyn will send you a personal Zoom invitation. If unable to attend, members can send a proxy form to our Proxy Officer, Alan Kennedy at as per the document issued.
This is a significant matter for the SBU and members are strongly encouraged to attend.

The next round of SOL starts on 13th September - returning teams and new teams welcome. There are some changes for this iteration: Teams can have up to 8 players registered and Matches can be played on any day.
Closing date for entries to SOL5 is Sunday 29th August - new teams should enter using the form on the SOL5 homepage, existing teams wishing to continue should contact the Tournament Convenor
Pairs/teams looking to join a team/add members to an existing team should also contact the Tournament Convenor and we can put people in touch.
From August, the SBU Monthly Charity Pairs wil be moving from the first Tuesday of the month to the last Tuesday of the month.
The August event will now be held on Tuesday 31st August.
All proceeds from this tournament will go to the charity named by the winners on the night - why not put the date in your diary?
